Andrzej is a founding Director of Triticarte and the Director of Diversity Arrays Technology Pty Ltd. His invention, Diversity Arrays® Technology, which is applied to wheat and barley in Triticarte®, makes genotyping efficient and affordable even for small crops. Andrzej gained his PhD on population genetics of Arabidopsis thaliana at the Silesian University, Poland in 1987. His Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Plant Breeding Institute, Cambridge (UK), involved research on the first field release of transgenic potatoes and on comparative genomics of grasses, research he continued while in the US. He was responsible for key early work on plant telomere biology and cloning of the human telomerase, hTERT. He is the author of four patent specifications, has published over 50 publications in refereed international journals, and been an invited speaker to a number of international conferences. Andrzej has a strong interest and involvement in international agricultural research, especially in developing and delivering technologies that could benefit resource-poor farmers.

Andrzej is the founder of DArT P/L, a company devoted to delivery of DArT® to agricultural industries. He provides overall leadership and scientific expertise based on 20 years of research in genetics and in technology development. Andrzej is also heavily involved in graduate and postdoctoral training of young scientists, many of them from lesser developed countries.
