Q: How to prepare DNA suitable for DArT?
A: DArT requires DNA suitable for restriction enzyme digestion and ligation. A recommended protocol for DNA extraction from leaf tissues is available here ( 130 KB).

Q: How much DNA do you need?
A: We need about 10 to 20 ul of 50 ng/ul high quality genomic DNA, suitable for restriction enzyme and ligation.

Q: How to prepare a sample tracking file for ordering the service?

Q: How to ship the DNA?
A: Please see the DNA shipping instructions sheet: shipping instructions ( 263 KB)

Q: How long does it take to get the data back?
A: We are committed to produce data within 8 weeks of the DNA passing QC. If we get delayed, you will be notified.

Q: How much does the service cost?

Q: What to do if I cannot buy the recommended plates for shipping DNA?
A: We can sell you a set of 10 recommended plates and caps, for 200 Australian Dollars.

A: Yes! See the details on the service description page.

Q: Is the sequence of DArT markers available?
A: The sequence of many DArT markers has been determined and is currently available to Triticarte customers under the terms of a Sequence Transfer Agreement ( 450 KB). All sequences will be eventually released on a public database and available without restriction.

Q: Do you offer service for other species than Wheat and Barley?
